18 Months of Play
In a world where grown-ups are distracted worrying about how we’re perceived by other people or made up potential problems in an imagined version of the future, babies show us that life's most valuable lessons come from something as seemingly simple as stacking blocks, learning, and discovering through play.
I really believe we are all born geniuses with an incredible ability to learn. The most amazing adults are the ones that are able to hold onto that joy in learning, persistence and inquisitiveness.
New Partnership Announcement: Toy Diplomacy + City People
Toy Diplomacy is delighted to share news of its new partnership with the placemaking cultural think tank, City People.
Together, these two creative powerhouses will work to implement an Arts, Play and Discovery strategy across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN).
Why Toys Why Now?
Toy Diplomacy evolved from people needing to connect and reflect on our world in crisis. Five people who had worked together in a former life, started a conversation responding to COVID and ended up exploring the idea of a liminal space. We questioned if we could conjure a collective that provided creatives, decision makers and young people with lived experience to inhabit a space exploring and responding to real world problems.
The Birth of Toy Diplomacy
Imagine you come to the edge of a bridge desperate to run from something; a fire, a pandemic, death, sadness, it could be any number of things. You make your first step on the bridge only to find it rickety and unsettled.
In order to cross you need to embrace the journey and what is potentially on the other side, you’re here because you need to move forward and learn.
Step one is to embrace the idea of moving forward.
